University Day Travel Information
Driving Directions to Texas Tech. The United Spirit Arena is located on the west side of the Texas Tech campus at 18th Street and Indiana Avenue.
From the south or southeast:
Enter the city on Highway 84. Take north Interstate 27 and exit on 19th Street. Continue west on 19th Street to Indiana Avenue and turn right. The Arena will be on your right immediately past 18th Street.
From the west or southwest:
Enter the city on Highway 62/82. Go east on 19th Street to Indiana Avenue and turn left. The Arena will be on your right immediately past 18th Street.
From the north:
Enter the city on Interstate 27 and take the 19th Street exit. Go west on 19th Street to Indiana Avenue and turn right. The Arena will be on your right immediately past 18th Street.
Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport. Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport is located minutes from the Texas Tech campus. Airline service includes American Airlines, Continental Express and Southwest Airlines. Car rental is also available at the Lubbock airport.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE. Most Lubbock hotels provide shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. If your hotel does not, Texas Tech will provide transportation from the airport to your hotel or to the United Spirit Arena. Texas Tech shuttles are available on Sunday from 2:00 to 11:00 p.m. Shuttles are also available from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday. To sign up for a Texas Tech shuttle, click here.
PARKING. Parking will be available exclusively for University Day guests in the parking lot north of the United Spirit Arena. Attendants will be on hand to assist with parking. Shuttles will provide access to the main campus for walking tours, housing and afternoon presentations. Visitors may find their way back to their vehicles at the United Spirit Arena via Texas Tech campus bus routes.
LUGGAGE. The Office of Admissions can store your luggage on University Day. Please check your luggage at the Admissions table located next to Registration and the T-shirt sales booth at the United Spirit Arena. Be sure your luggage has an identification tag. All luggage must be picked up by 1:30 p.m. If you do not pick up your luggage at this time, Admissions staff will take all luggage to the Visitors Center in West Hall.
